Big mistake: accidental transaction on hold. refund? please help

Hi folks. I made a little bit of a (large) mistake for my first time using Apple Pay. I was attempting to send someone some money, but it went on hold (which is good, cause I had a fever and I didn't actually mean to send that money. oops). So now it is on hold cause its a large amount and that is quite sus. Will it default back to me? The peer I transferred it to says that it will not go through ever, and in order to trigger an automatic refund, I would have to send even more money to hit a $1500 daily limit. But that doesn't sound correct to me (and Google concurs). Will the payment ever go through? Will it bounce back? Can I sort this out through my bank? (But I cannot dispute the charge apparently until it goes through. I know that Apple Pay has a different system, but the transaction does show in my bank transaction history. )

Please help

Apple says to only send money using Messages to someone you know. Anyone that you do no know asking you to send them cash is likely scamming you. As this is likely an Apple Cash transaction, you should immediately contact Green Dot Bank as they are responsible for managing Apple Cash:

Contact Green Dot Bank by calling (877) 233-8552

In the future NEVER send money to someone you do not know. There are no protections like you would find on a credit card to dispute a transaction. It is equivalent to giving someone on the street $1500 where your only option is to ask them for your money back.
