2019 iMac 27 5k doesn't upgrade to Sonoma

According to Apple, my 2019 iMac 27 5K with a Coffee Lake CPU should be

upgradeable to Sonoma, but it isn't.

Specs:

i5 3.0 ( Coffee Lake CPU ) 64RAM, 2TB SSD, 1.5TB available.

Current macOS Sequoia 15.7.1

Check for update results in = Your Mac is up to date

What am I missing...

These types of things do happen even to the best of use


Though, if you really meant upGrade to macOS 26 Tahoe

Depending on your long term plans regarding the usages of macOS


You may consider planning for a purchase of an Apple Silicon machine at sometime to too far off.


Currently, macOS 26 Tahoe is the last version of macOS for INTEL Computers as Apple transitions away from Intel and only to In-House M-Class Silicon computers


This is kind of like when Apple moved from the Motorola PPC to the Intel CPUs back in the days of yore
