After updating, i noticed i no longer am able to select “skip silence” on any new audios while the older ones from pre-update still have the option. There is a new studio audio option but none for skipping silence. Any solutions or is this intended by Apple? I have an iPhone 16 pro and IOS 26.01

I found a solution for this (I thought it was weird too). To re-enable the “skip silence” option, go to the Settings app and select Apps > Voice Memos > Recording Mode > Stereo. It seems that spatial audio doesn’t allow for skipping silence. Unfortunately any recordings already made with the spatial audio won’t have the skip silence function, but future ones will. Hope this helps :)
