How to turn off equation solving in preview documents?

I just recently updated my MacBook to the new Tahoe system and have run into an issue with typing notes in documents opened on preview. Whenever I type in a math operation into a text box, it automatically solves it for me but is typically not in the correct format. Is there a way to change this setting for preview? I tried other suggestions I found online such as turning off math results in the notes app settings but still have this issue.

This setting is placed so much out of the way, that when I read it I could not believe it! I certainly would never think to look there.

You have to go to Screen Time (why, or why? how can this make sense??????)

Go to

System Settings->Screen Time->Content & Privacy->Intelligence & Siri

and turn off "Math Results":

Of course, this turns it off everywhere, not just in Preview.

AFAICT, the only application where you can turn this off within the app is Notes.
