The last couple of days my iPhone has been auto answering all calls - upon checking in settings ‘auto answer ‘ as o expected is not enabled ..!! Help what else could possibly cause this

Q. Why does my iPhone 17 Pro Max auto answer all incoming calls when the auto answer is disabled?
I have tried all the work around without success. Also tried the audio routing suggestion.
Also tried the simple restart.
IOS is the latest version.
The issue is limited to my phone, our other phone (same model) has no such issue and does not auto answer, checked all settings on both phones, both the same.
A. The AI mentioned my iWatch might cause a glitch so shut down the watch, and tested my iPhone, problem disappeared. Restarted the iWatch and problem returned on the phone, checked settings on iWatch and auto routing was turned on…. Disabled, tested my phone and all good again, no auto answer.
Just to be clear it is in Settings, Accessibility > Touch > Call Audio Routing > Auto-answer Calls, yes?
Is it that the call is being answered and sitting there connected, or is it that after a certain number of rings, it is being answered via voicemail?
