Arranging windows on a vertical (portrait orientation) screen

I frequently use the "arrange windows" options that pop up from the green button in the top left corner of application windows. Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

These options work well on monitors that are in "landscape position" but not so well on monitors that are in "portrait position" like the one at the left in this screen shot:

Is there any way to change the "Left of screen" and "Right of screen" options in the first screen shot above so that, for the leftmost monitor, they become "Top of screen" and "Bottom of screen" ?

If I may make a suggestion.

Disable and forget about Stage Manage, Tiling and Mission Control.

Then just move and resize app windows according to that displays orientation.

To explain further, when you arange the windows using "Left of screen" and "Right of screen," those windows become too marrow to be of much use. I would rather the windows be "boxes" at the top and bottom of the vertical monitor rather than "columns" on either side of the monitor.

That's what I do now on the vertical screen. I just figured this must be possible somehow, maybe using some obscure setting (which is not like Apple IMO). If not, this might be an enhancement request for Apple to consider.

Thanks. I did so when I read another person's comment in this thread that mentioned the feedback link. Now keeping my fingers crossed that someone at Apple reads this, and the change gets implemented. Ideally this change to "top/bottom" should be automatic once you set the monitor as vertical in System Settings... To be determined.

Hello @neuroanatomist,

These buttons do work, but you can't resize both windows at once the way you can using the "Full Screen" options below these icons when on a horizontal monitor. I've asked Apple to recreate the same ease of use on vertical monitors.
