macOS 26.1: Menu Bar Bluetooth Icon Toggles ON/OFF with Trackpad 'Tap' Instead of 'Click'

When I lightly 'tap' on the trackpad, instead of showing information about the Bluetooth device, a pop-up appears asking if I want to turn off Bluetooth.

With default settings, there should be no difference between click and tap:

Make some changes in System Settings > Trackpad, turn off/on tap-to-click, adjust the force setting.

If no effect, see if the problem is present when you boot in safe mode, which disables 3rd party extensions and performs some system cleanup.

I think this problem is an OS problem. If you change the position of the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar, this problem will not occur. And if you put the WiFi button in the corresponding position, the WiFi will toggle.

That sounds like a poorly made third-party Status Menu Item causing problems with the Status Menu area.

What position in the bar does it occur and what is next to it?

Macbook Pro 16 M3 Max running on 26.1, having the same issue. I just bought a USB C black magic trackpad. The trackpad on the Macbook behaves as it should, but the new magic trackpad that was just connected toggles the bluetooth on and off instead of dropping down the menu like the other items. If I move the bluetooth icon and rearrange its location on the menu bar it resolves the issue, but now the airdrop icon toggles on and off on one tap. This is annoying! It only happens with the magic trackpad and does not occur with the built in trackpad on the Macbook.

What is next to the spot where it toggles on and off?
