Background color of a person in Contacts app

Until iOS 18 and macOS 15, the default background color for a person in the Contacts app was dark or light mode. This made it easy for everyone to read.

But since iOS 26 and macOS 26, it's become difficult to read a person's details in the Contacts app, so it's possible to add an image with or without it.

Can Apple still fix this in the future: whether a photo is displayed in fields like name, phone number, address, and so on?

“Fix” may be the operative term here. First, Apple would have to think it is in need of a fix.

You might be able to sway them in that direction by sending Feedback.

None of us here know anything about what Apple can or cannot do, nor do we have any idea what they plan to do.
