What happened to my Wallpaper Folder?

Why can't I pin an image from my Wallpapers Folder in Tahoe 26.1? Until an hour ago, after I finished updating the system, I just had to right-click in an image on my Wallpapers folder, chose the option "Set Desktop Picture" and it would stay like that till Kingdom Come!
