Music Player Song Scrolling - History is now at the top rather than the next song that should be played

I'm on Mac 26.1 (25B78), and the music app is still a mess. The mini player seen in the image never keeps the current song at the top. It allows history to be the focus instead. This is a complete and utter mess and isn't intuitive at all. How can this be fixed? Why break something so simple?

Somebody seems to have forgotten that Playing Next and History are opposite things that don't belong in the same list. I have no idea why, I just know that I've stopped using Playing Next because it's, as you said, "a complete and utter mess."

I was testing it just now before replying to you, and manually selecting a song from a playlist (rather than hitting Shuffle), no longer populates Playing Next. So I guess we've also lost the ability to start a shuffled playlist with a particular song. Maybe we were naughty?

I'm absolutely astounded it's been left this way. It's as if they want the music player to be set to Random for their music service listeners, rather than for people who care about albums.

The sad thing is that they had similar functionality in the last OS build, and it just worked. History was in the list above and you didn't have to see it unless you wanted.
