Upgrading to MacOS26 calculator, screenshots

I love upgrading.

Calculator

Has anyone noticed that the mac calculator layout does not represent a standard mac keyboard. The divide is in the wrong place. I would show you, with but the screenshot (that's the next problem) would not load via the image button. The file is a pdf. Converted it to an image so could upload it.

It was so nice of apple to revamp the screenshot features. I see that I cannot take a snippet of my screen shot and save directly to wherever. I selected desktop to save, no luck. I searched the entire system and found nothing. I now have to open it in Preview (I do not use preview) and then save it and then open it in another app to convert it to a jpeg? That is so much easier (Is this windows logic).

Please tell me that there is an easier way!

Back to dealing with other problems to find solutions/workarounds. I will leave these two in your capable hands

The Calculator layout is the same as it was in Sequoia, the Mac I'm on right now is on 15.7.1

Layout is the same on the Calculator app in iOS 18/26. The number keypad on my Apple Magic Keyboard has a double-height enter key, which I guess Apple thinks is unnecessary on the digital version. If you disagree, you can tell Apple since only they can change the layout of the calculator buttons. To have Apple consider your feedback, submit it here:

Or look through the App Store, there are many calculator apps and probably some have the same layout at the physical number pad.

Regarding screenshots, mine save normally to the desktop after the floating thumbnail disappears. Some people on Tahoe have reported issues that are solved by turning off Show Floating Thumbnail by pressing Command-Shift-5, clicking the Options menu and unselecting that option. That's also where you can change the Save To location.

If you've used Terminal to change the screenshot format to something other than the default PNG file, you may need to change it back. That non-standard setting was found by others to cause issues with the Floating Thumbnail, specifically.

I don't know why the Calculator layout would be the same. It's no different in PCalc for example. You can't post PDFs here.
