Adobe Acrobat Updater fails on Tahoe
I have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. I use Help>Check for Updates... and see there is an update available. Selecting that launches a new app, Adobe Acrobat Updater. It advises me that I need to close the Acrobat app before I can update. I do that and the dialog box changes to ask if I want to install the update now. I press "yes" and see "Downloading update..." with a progress bar. The progress bar goes all the way to the right and then nothing happens for about 30 minutes. Then I am told that the update failed.
Looking around in the Console application, under "Log Reports", there is a file "Acrobat Updater DC.log". Scrolling down in that I see something like:

I tried all the suggested fixes of restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat, and even doing uninstalls and cleaning up Adobe Creative Cloud.
I chatted with customer support at Adobe who wanted to connect remotely but I asked about what they wanted to check and showed part of these log files (the "HammerInstallError"). I was given a link to the standalone update .dmg file which let me get the latest version, but doesn't fix the problem of updating within Adobe Acrobat.
When I asked about that, I was told that there was some settings within MacOS that need to be changed to allow the update, but did not want to go into details, and I did not want to give them remote access. They suggested contacting Apple Support. I wondered if anyone in the Apple community is familiar with the issue.
For that it is worth, since I have Parallels Desktop, I created a new VM with Tahoe, installed an older version of Adobe Acrobat Reader and was able to upgrade within that VM so it is not some absolute incompatibility with Tahoe.
