I cannot for the life of me find a way to change the random ID I was assigned when I created my Community account. I saw a few posts like this where moderators helped - could someone point me in the right direction please? Tyty!

The advantage in mailing them is you can make suggestions for a new name. I helped somebody else recently for whom the request was made without input from the user and they were assigned yet another random name.
