Apple Store employee's suspicious business promotion and potential scam

Yesterday Thursday November 6th, I walked in to the Apple Store to buy some headphones. After I was done with my purchase the employee asked if I was a business owner.apple will send me information on how to grow my business.

he then had me scan an QR code and fill out some information. I found it odd I didn’t receive an email from Apple.

shortly after I received a text saying hi. I replied with hi who is this.

that same number calls me and asked me if I live in New York? Something inside me said don’t say yes!

my reply was who is this. They stay quiet so I hung up and then texted them back.

people do not randomly say yes into a phone call. People are stealing your voice to then call your bank pretending to be you and using the voice snippet to confirm any changes on your accounts.

my question is who do I contact about the employee trying to scam customers while he’s at work in the Apple Store.

Contact the manager of the Apple Store you went to. I would recommend going into the store instead of a phone call or schedule some time where they can discuss the situation so they have all the information needed for any corrective measures.
