I have had this Mac Studio for a little over 3 years. It has the M2 chip. This past week, I am getting the Beachball of death. Have not done anything different and not added any new software. Any ideas? Also, I tried to follow the SAFE MODE instructions.... I do not get the verbiage as described in one instruction set, and holding down my shift key has done nothing to launch SAFE MODE.

The beachball usually means something is bogging down your Mac. It is possible there are processes running in the background that are using significant resources. Check Activity Monitor, CPU tab, sort by % CPU to see what's running hard.

Also, how much free space is left on your internal drive?

The report contains no personal information, but will show launch files that may be causing a conflict, recent processes that have crashed or are hanging, processes that are using the most CPU cycles, and a bit of a drive performance analysis that would be helpful.

I don't know what instructions you used to get into safemode but review this guide to see if you may have missed a step or didn't notice the icon that shows how to enter safemode
