When is Apple going to fix copy and paste on MacBook Pro

On Finacial statements copy and paste does not work with ease on transaction numbers. Out side of that part of statement it works like it always has. Something is off. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Welcome!

I have two Macbook Pros, one from 2012 and the other from 2024, and neither has ever had an issue with copy/paste.

FYI, asking, "When is Apple..." here is the tech version of asking you dentist when Toyota is going to fix a glitch in your car's electrical system. We are other end users, not Apple, with no special access to Apple's plans or development schedule. And Apple will not see your requests among the tens of thousands of new post daily here.

If you want effective help here from your peers in this setting, we need details. Please include your Mac's model, sub-model, and macOS version, plus things you have tried. Examples: What app are you using for the financial statements? If it is a laptop, are you using an external keyboard? Have you restarted the computer recently? Etc.

You cannot conect with Apple here. Either contact Support or, to report a bug, use a feedback link:

Product Feedback - Apple

Also please confirm what computer you have. Your title says "Macbook Pro" but you posted in a section for Apple's über-expensive Mac Pro, a powerful pro desktop work station. This section gets few views. If you really have an Macbook Pro we can ask the moderators to move you to that forum section which is much more active.

It's hard for me to describe but the senior agent at Apple Support was able to reproduce it on his MacBook Pro and didn't have any other advice for me but to post on this forum.

On statements from Apple Card, Capital One, and most Banks. Numbers and words outside the body of listed transactions, I can copy and paste perfectly like always. I put curser over word and press two fingers on mouse and the word highlights in light yellow and I am given option to copy.

Numbers and words inside body of listed transactions on the same statement doesn't copy and paste in this manner. I put the curser over the number or word press two fingers on mouse and the number or word does not highlight, but sometimes will give me a copy option, sometimes it does not. When I go forward and press copy and it does not highlight in yellow, when I paste, it is not the number or word, but something unrelated note even last thing I pasted. I don't know where it's coming from.

With a lot of extra clicking I can get a box or I can highlight the number but I have to drag it to get the entire number highlighted. It's a darker yellow highlight and turns almost back when copied, but I can then paste it. It just takes so much effort to do it that it becomes more simple just to manually input the data. I don't know if its my MacBook, the Tahoe update, or PDF statements being created differently.

I bring the PDF statements up like I always due through "Preview" the agent and I tried opening the statements with Adobe instead of Preview but the exact same thing would happen. On his MacBook Pro and mine.

I have a 2023 MacBook Pro with Apple M2 Pro chip. I am running ISO Tahoe 26.1

I apologize for that header. I did not mean to come across flippant. This is the first time I have used any forum, my ignorance, my fault. I thought I hit the link Apple Support sent me. I am obviously in the wrong place. The senior agent at Apple Support was able to reproduce the issue on his MacBook Pro so, it's not just me. You are correct it could be myriad of causes from how financial institutions are creating their PDF statements to Adobe. I should not have insinuated it was an Apple issue. Thanks for setting me straight.

I have a 2023 MaxBook Pro, Apple M2 Pro chip, 16 GB, running IOS Tahoe 26.1. I don't use any external keyboard or mouses. I just copy and paste a lot from statements to spread sheets.
