Apple Numbers Chart - I CANNOT get the data in the chart the way I want it no matter which way I do it. AAARRRGGGG!!!!

I have a chart with basketball players names, their rank in the league and the dates of the rankings such as

And I want the a 2D line chart EXACTLY like this spreadsheet with the names on the left side, the dates across the top, and the rankings being the data lines going horizontally across the pages. No matter which way I flip the data and transpose it, no matter WHAT I DO, It NEVER comes close to what I want. Any suggestions?

The total number of players is 15 on the team and I want to show their rankings as they move up and down the rankings in a 2D line going across the page with the names vertically on the left and the dates along the top or the bottom. The dates can be on the top or bottom.

Click on the chart

Edit Data References

In the bottom left corner of the window it will say "plot columns as series". Change that to "plot rows as series".

Closest I can get to your exact question is shown below.

The names are on the left exactly as shown in the table. This is chart legend.

The dates are across the top. This is a second chart placed above the main one with everything turned off but the X axis category labels. The X axis labels on the main chart are turned off. You

Each data point on a chart has a Y value (your rankings) and an X value (your dates). The vertical axis (the left side of a chart) has numbers to indicate the Y values of your data points. The horizontal axis has the X values. Each person is a different line/color on the chart. The legend tells you which color line/point is which person. There are no charts where the X axis is on the top.

If you want the names to appear on the chart, with a 2D scatter chart you can do something like shown below. It will be a hot mess, though, if two or more people have the same or similar rankings on the same dates. Names will overlap. It would be the same hot mess if there was a way to move the names to the left of the chart (which there is not).

But HOW are you getting the chart to show up like that. I have my columns and rows identical to what you have. What are the steps that you went through to get the chart to show like that. I get the below. What EXACT STEPS are you getting to get that? I just can't figure it out. PS: I'm color blind (shade challenged) red/green/brown plus others too. Too long to list so I really need names to show like what you have.
