iPod gen 5 how do I get MY music off

As above really, tried YouTube and nothing seems to work, I also don't fancy spending £40 trying 'imazing'

either as I've already paid for and uploaded my now thrown away Cd collection, plus I'm not confident it will work anyway ! Ive still got my old G4 MDD in the loft but its been there since 2012 so may not even boot up.
