I lost one AirPod and the findmy functions are not helping me find it.

About 2 weeks ago I lost an AirPod somewhere in my home (according to its Findmy location). I attempted to find my missing AirPod by using the sound and direction functions on Findmy however, the sound doesn't play and the directions don't work. When I click the play sound button it warns me that it might play loud, says it is trying to connect, and then doesn't play at all. When I click directions it says it's trying to find my AirPod but doesn't move past that notice. According to the Findmy app my AirPod is both charged and in my house so I am not sure why the tracking functions are not working. I have 2nd generation Air Pod Pros. Please let me know what I can do to find my AirPod.
