MacOS Apple News does not recognize my News+ subscription

I share an Apple News+ subscription with my family. It works on iOS (iPhone, iPad) but has recently stopped working on MacOS.

MacOS 15.6.1 (24G90)

News app Version 10.5 (5698)

I can see from System Settings that my shared subscription is known (see screenshot)

I have rebooted my MacBook since identifying this issue, and it persists.

What do I need to do to access Apple News+ on my MacBook?

MacBook Pro (M4 Max, 2024)

You might want to update to Sequoia 15.7.2 and see if that makes a difference. You should update regardless.

Ah, I hadn't noticed there was an update. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, no difference.

In case anyone finds this later: apparently I was not signed in to my Apple account in News.

I clicked on the "Try 1 Month Free" offer and was prompted to log in. After logging in, I dismissed the subscription offer, and was still able to see News+ content.
