Unable to join Wi-Fi network shared from MacBook Air M3

I cannot share the internet from my macbook air m3 with an ethernet cable over wifi. The wifi network is shown in the networks but it cannot be joined from either my iphone or ipad. I also went to apple support and the issue still persists.
