iPad: Excel files grey and uneditable after iCloud transfer

Excel files held on windows 10 have been transferred to my ioad using icloud. The files now appear in grey and i cannot edit them . how can i address these issues.

Ensure that you have you updated/installed the MS Excel App for iPad. Excel and other MS productivity Apps for iPad have been updated by Microsoft in recent days:

You should note that to edit or create MS files on an iPad with a screen of 10.1" or greater, you will require an active Microsoft 365 subscription.
