Beats Fit Pro replacement wingtip

The rubber wingtip of one of my Beats Fit Pros split and needs to be replaced. I am advised by Apple that my only option is to buy a replacement earbud (mine works fine) for just under $100. The wingtip is just a piece of soft rubber that snaps on. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I feel (on a small scale) like I am being made to replace an entire car because it has a flat tire. The Apple chat was entirely unhelpful, as was the tech at the Apple Store. Frustrating in the extreme!

You can purchase a replacement wingtip, but not from Apple. As such, it is important to understand that third-party replacement parts, may or may not, work properly. The actual replacement process is not entirely simple, but it shouldn't pose too much difficulty in achieving. If you do an Internet search, you should find a number of links for this part.
