FileVault recovery key not displaying in terminal after enabling on macOS Tahoe 26.1

Tahoe 26.1 no longer displays the filevault recovery key inside of the terminal when running

sudo fdesetup enable -user testuser

I get the following error below. fdesetup[5356:260359] ERROR: unable to access any pids from second call of proc_listpids

Filevault activates but the key is no longer displaying in the terminal. When I go to the Settings window the filevault key is also not showing with a message saying 'Recovery key has been sent'.

These computers are not bound to any MDM or service so not sure where the key is being 'sent'.

We have automated scripts that depend on the previous behavior. I could run sudo fdesetup changerecovery -personal but thats another step that i'd like to avoid.
