AirPods won't connect after forgetting device

why won’t my AirPods connect I pressed forget device and I can’t find it anymore I’ve tried anything to connect it just won’t connect I’ve cleaned the charging port for the AirPods but it still doesn’t connect what should I do and still stay home..?
