I understand the point but the new pin position is quite random. Not shifted to the nearest address. What I did: I placed a pin on “my location” when I was standing near a small unnamed utility building in the middle of fields. I tested the marker using a satellite view showing the house and it all matched. I gave it a name and marked it as a favourite. The nearest village (an address searchable in Maps.app) was 200m away.
The next day I discovered that the pin had moved ~8km away to another “nowhere” location, even further from any road. It was now near a slightly larger village, but again in the fields.
This phantom drift of pins doesn’t happen every time. I occasionally mark my POIs this way. However, I’ve learned that before starting navigation, I must check the satellite view to ensure my target remains where I left it. When I forget, I spam discussions.
