It won’t let me since it’s not linked to Apple account.

Then I don’t think that this complimentary subscription is active. I am not aware of the possibility for access to Apple TV subscription content without an Apple Account.

But please check with the Apple Support staff for a definitive answer. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (chat/email/callback).

Yes it is linked to my Apple ID. But there’s not option to caveat via apple. It says to contact Airtel to mangae and Airtel can’t do anything. Called them multiple times times and submitted my question. Now I am out of India and can’t update my apps because of the sub. It won’t let me change the region untill I cancel apple tv

A complimentary Apple TV subscription would get linked to your Apple Account when redeeming. Then you can cancel it like any other subscription through Apple, e.g. on your iPhone in Settings﹥[You/Your Apple Account]﹥Subscriptions﹥Apple TV﹥Cancel﹥Confirm.
