What happened to emojis when typing texts on iPad in IOS 26?

I upgraded my iPad to IOS 26 and now, when sending texts, the bar that shows emojis and text suggestions no longer shows up. It only shows up when I disconnect my Magic Keyboard. I've tried changing keyboard settings and accessibility settings, but nothing works. It's a pain to have to press the globe button on the keyboard for the emoji menu to pop up and then pick an emoji, when before it would just appear in the bar below where I was typing and I could click on it.
