140W MacBook Pro charger stopped working

Please help me. I bought a MacBook Pro M4 16" a month ago. Since this morning, my 140W charger has stopped supplying power to the cable and is no longer charging the laptop. I tested the cable with a 65W charger and it works—it lights up—so the cable seems fine.

The strange part is that when I plug the 140W charger into the socket, there is a small spark, which suggests the charger isn’t completely dead. However, it appears that power is not reaching the USB-C port, so the laptop doesn’t charge and the MagSafe 3 indicator light doesn’t turn on.

What could be the reason for this issue? Can I claim warranty for this? What should I do next? Please help.

You should contact the official Apple Support about that, your power adapter is also included in the warranty for your MacBook Pro.

Mac Repair and Service - Apple Support

The fastest way would probably be, visiting an Authorised Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place and let them test your power adapter and the MacBook Pro.

You can use this link to find one:

There is always a small spark when you plug in something that draws some power in its initial state. But most of the time, we are not looking for it and the spark is not very noticeable.

Be sure you give that power-adapter a timeout. Set it aside, unpowered, for a few minutes to allow it to leak back to zero and reset itself.

As ingo2711 says, the warranty on items like power adapters follows the warranty of the computer it shipped with. If you make a genius bar appointment, be certain that you take ALL the related items. If you show up with ONLY the power adapter, they will send you away.
