Can't connect MacBook with iPad after updating to 26.1

I have updated my M1 MacBook Pro 13 and my iPad 9th Gen to OS 26.1. After doing so, I cannot connect them via bluetooth. I get a message that my MacBook isn't compatible and I can't find the iPad in the bluetooth settings on the Macbook. Any ideas on fixing this?
