iPhone sync in Finder shows error 7004

Hallo, I migrated the OS via time machine from a 2017 macbook (OS13) pro to a 2016 macbook pro(OS12) and it worked well apart from the iphone sync option via finder. When I connect the iphone to sync and backup it opens photos and also sees the phone in the finder, but it displays following error message where the sync bit should be:

An unknown error occurred (7004)

Any ideas on what the problem might be?
