Recover disappeared On My iPhone calendars from backup

I had several calendars under “On My iPhone” in the Calendar app, but they suddenly disappeared. I did not delete them. Now all my locally stored events are gone. Is there any way to recover the “On My iPhone” calendars from a backup, or restore them without losing my other data?

iPhone 12, iOS 18

There is just no way to wipe calendar clean by accident or update, or to delete a calendar, without a user's misstep. You don't give circumstances, maybe you are saying you just noticed that you do not see calendar events? Are the events missing 3 or six months old?

iOS-18 made improvements to calendar and it was after 18.5 that I had my moment of calendar "fear" when noticing events over 3 months old (or was it 6?) were no longer displayed, which had me believing all my old events were gone, forever. The solution found was that by making a change in settings for calendar, all the old info was displayed again, it was never lost. Have you gone to Settings, Apps, Calendar, Sync, and have "All Events" selected?

Actions like "Restore iPhone" and "restore backup" have a place in fixing problems when applied correctly for the right situation, but restoring the same setting causing the situation as I experienced was not going to work, the setting had to be changed.
