Take it up with the EU regulators and ask them to clarify the regulations around DMA.

It is the uncertainty about the DMA as explained. Your claim of geo-locking is invalid. That is almost always the result of governmental interference with commerce in the name of ‘fairness’.
Of course you could always switch platforms if that’s what you believe Apple is intentionally doing and are annoyed by it.

Well, the world now has iPhones that charge with USB-C instead of the proprietary Lightning connector thanks to the EU. I guess you win some, you lose some…or something like that.
