What sound cards are you talking about?
Many professional sound cards can be combined without the need of creating an aggregate device. This can be done by using a control software provided by the manufacturer.
presonus Quantum HD8’s.
they can be daisy chained via ADAT and the primary device will show preamp control of the secondary device in UC control, which is Presonus’s control software, but the preamps ADC “widget” of the secondary device does not show on channel strips in logic. Should be 16 channels of ADC widgets with Gain, high pass, 48v phantom and 20db pad. That recallable feature is a huge timesaver on gain staging mixes. Shows up in Presonus’s Studio one DAW though. Hoping it’s a midi setting somewhere.
