How to resolve printer issues after macOS 26.1 update on iMac M3?

After updating my imac M3 to new macOS 26.1 my printers have stopped working. One is an HP Envy 5534 and the other is a Brother QL-1100c label printer. I've uninstalled the Brother but can't reinstall as drivers on site are only for macOS up to 15. When adding the printer via system settings it shows up as connected via USB but under the drop down menu to choose a driver and select software no software is available.

The HP is showing up but when I go to print a document from pages it get stuck saying processing and crashes pages.

Not sure if the printers now need replaced as pretty old or if there is a work around?

All I can say is that the printer manufacturers are responsible for keeping their drivers up to date with macOS. IF HP and Brother do not provide macOS 26 Tahoe compatible drivers then you may be out of luck. Is either printer AirPrint compatible? Check the user guide. If AirPrint is supported then you don’t need drivers, the printers just need to be connected to your network WiFi.

But you might try resetting the print system and try to add them again.
