How do I delete icons in Safari Bookmarks sidebar?

I turned on my MacBook 2 days ago after traveling and I see that in Safari the Bookmarks sidebar on the left now shows icons instead of just a list. I don't want the icons. I found advice here from 2 years ago advising to right click on a bookmark and there would be an option to Show Icons. But no such option appears. I only have these: Open in New Tab, Open in New Private Window, Rename, Edit Address, Edit Description, Copy, Delete, Move To. I’m using Sequoia 15.7.2 on my MacBook. How do I delete the icons in the Sidebar?

you have a couple options.

the first option, you can lay a new sequoia install over the old one without completely erasing and reinstalling sequoia. afterwards, you will have sequoia with safari 18.6.

and the other option, you may want to look at 6x6's reply in this discussion. if you are comfortable using terminal, their suggestion fixes things for those of us on sequoia with safari 26.0.1.

please note, if you are going to try the terminal commands, you need to grant terminal full disk access. go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access to do so.
