Can't create new contacts on my MacBook Air after updating to macOS Tahoe 26.1

Can't Create New Contacts

I updated my MacBook Air to Tahoe 26.1. I can no longer add new contacts. I choose "add" and start typing. Within a few seconds, as I'm typing, the screen flips back to the contact list. Each time I do it, it creates a blank 'no name' contact.

What I've tried: 1) Closed and reopened Contacts. 2) Restarted my computer. 3) Editing a 'no-name' contact.

None of these helped.
