How do I make Spotlight search only for applications on my MacBook Pro?

I only set it to search for applications, but it came up with a bunch of random and confusing stuff.


How should I set it up ?

After you start Spotlight, press Command-1. This will restrict the search results to applications only.

I am not sure what you are saying here. AFAICR, also in previous OS the Spotlight search would return multiple results like in Tahoe.


If this is so important, you could try creating a Shortcut like the one below, and assign it its own keyboard shortcut.

All it does is simulate the same effect as pressing Command-Space followed by Command-1.


Note: I tested it briefly, and it appears to work, but it is offered as is, without any warranty :-)
