Notes folders not retaining open/closed state on macOS

In the Notes app I created several folders and subfolders to organise my notes.

Every time I open the Notes app on Macos (Tahoe) I find some of the open folders (instead I had closed them before leaving the app). This is pretty annoying, how can I make sure the folders stay closed or open based on how I left them before closing?
