Card expiry date and cvv suddenly changed in settings and can’t reset.

I tried to make a payment using saved credit card details but it mysteriously said that either the expiry date or cvv number was incorrect. They weren’t. For some reason in settings it had changed the expiry date to the end of this current month from the correct future date it’s always been listed as.

Despite resetting and saving numerous times- even with Apple support in my phone watching- it inexplicably refuses to save the correct details and keeps putting it back to this current month.

It wouldn’t let me delete the card (in order to re enter the details) as linked to a subscription so I added a brand new card with an expiry date years ahead and guess what, it’s changed it to an expiry date the end of this month again! Can’t get any explanation/fix from Apple support. (It’s also not saving the correct info in my Apple account either.)

Anyone know why this suddenly happened to me and if there’s a fix? I did get a new iPhone 17 pro max last month but that might be a coincidence.

I see people had the same issue on here in Jan 2024 so maybe a known problem they’ve still not fixed.🤷‍♀️ Very annoying! Thanks for any advice.

Can you use another Apple device or PC, to change your payment information, in case this is related to the iOS software on your new Series 17?

You can also use Apple Gift Cards to use your Apple Account balance, if this does not work.

I first noticed the glitch when neither my credit or debit cards were working on 11.12.25 (UK), quite worrying to not be able to pay for things in the run up to Christmas for no apparent reason! I chatted to my bank and they clarified it was because I was inputting the wrong date, which I then checked in apple wallet and saw the issue. All my cards dates suddenly increased by one month, despite previously being right. I was able to put them right in the settings - card details - card information. What an odd glitch to increase the dates by a month, thankfully my cards now work now I’ve reset the dates!

Card expiry date and cvv suddenly changed in settings and can’t reset.
