Locked Out of New Macbook Pro M4 Max. My Apple ID PW for the "Forgot All Passwords" Feature Isn't working (Spinning Wheel)

Hey Friends! I'm having a hard time setting up my new 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 Max chip. My current computer was a 2021 MacBook Pro. I had 900 GBs on the hard drive that I was transferring over. Both computers have 1 TB solid-state hard drives installed in them.

I tried three separate times with the Migration Assistant to transfer everything over. Everything would transfer onto the new computer, but about 400 GBs would never transfer. Therefore, a lot of the critical items I needed for work didn't transfer. I attempted to do another complete transfer last night, and somehow on my new MacBook, I entered in the incorrect password that I thought I entered in (I was moving too fast b/ I was frustrated).

So I wasn't able to log into the new MacBook.

I've followed the process of restarting by holding down the power button until "Other Options" came upa nd used the Recovery Assistant and chose the 'forgot all passwords' option and to restore it with my Apple ID, but when I'm entering in my password from my Apple ID to recover everything, I just keep getting a spinning wheel and it won't load.

What can I do to reset my new MacBook so I can transfer everything over?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.6

Password Reset in a Loop:

Use Ethernet:

Connect to your router directly, using Ethernet. That would provide a more direct connection. Go Here: Belkin USB-C to 2.5Gb Ethernet Adapter - Apple

For Note:

There are quite a few reasons as to why this may have occurred. Some possible reasons include:

  • Too many unsuccessful login attempts
