Journal app PDF exports missing headlines in exports

[iOS] Headline missing from Journal Export

I’ve noticed for a while now (several versions), that the PDF result, when exporting entries from the “Journal” app, is omitting the headline.

I’m running iOS 18.7.2 on an iPhone 13 mini (256GB).

Reproducing the issue:

In the Journal app, hit the three-dot-menu in the top right and choose “print”.

Select any date range that includes a few entries or more.

On the following print settings page, you should already see in the bottom preview that the headlines of the entries (or “subject line”) are missing.

I then usually pinch zoom into the preview and hit the share button on the bottom left—then “save to files”.

My workaround is to duplicate the headline in the body of entry, when I create a new entry, but this is clearly a bug.

“Printing” is—as far as I know—the only way to export entries from the journal app.

I submitted bug reports to Apple about this.
