Slow Finder transfer and errors from Mac Pro to Mac Studio

I have connected my Mac Pro 2015, Thunderbolt 1 with my new Mac Studio.

With the Finder I am copying the Photo folder now.

The copying is very slow. It looks as if it is going via Wifi in stead of Thunderbolt. In the activity app I see that there are many errors during the transfer of photo files.

How can I change the data transfer to Thunderbolt ?

Thanks,

Hubert

1) What old Mac do you have...?

There is no such thing as a 2015 Mac Pro.

2) The best way to move to a new Mac is using the old Mac's Time Machine or a clone backup.

3) Sounds like you wasted money on a ThunderBolt adapter and/or cable.

You can't, the old miniDisplayPort (ThunderBolt) ports only supports display output.

The preferred method for manually moving large amounts of data is to use an external drive.

4) To manually move your Photos, Music, Movie Libraries to an external drive and then into the new Mac.
