Because you had Stolen Device Protection turned on there is a 30 day delay.

It cannot be stopped.

No. The phone is going to be removed from your account on the day it says it will be removed. I'm guessing that after the phone was stolen, you received a message you thought came from Apple saying your phone has been found and you needed to confirm your account credentials? Apple NEVER sends such messages and if you provided your account details, you provided them to the thief. Your phone is gone, you'll never get it back.

But you should change your Apple Account Password even if it won't help you ever get the phone back.

However they found out your Apple Account password, it was to remove the phone from your account. It has gone. Too late.

lobsterghost1's advice to change the password now is to ensure the thief doesn't lock you out of your account, and all your data, photos, music....
