Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen) not saving Apple TV show progress

Help, watching Apple TV shows on Apple TV device doesn't save their progress. I'm using Apple TV 4K 2nd Generation.

Please verify this settings option:

Settings﹥Apps﹥TV﹥Use Play History﹥On


If that doesn’t improve it, or was already set correctly, then try signing out of your account, then immediately sign in again, for a fresh start over.

Settings﹥Profiles and Accounts﹥[You]﹥Store﹥Sign Out


If there are multiple accounts signed in on this Apple TV box, then verify that the intended account is active when watching shows, as the TV app applies watch history for the current active account.
