Are you are referring to column widths while viewing folders and files in Finder..?
If so, what option (list or column) are you using to view folders and files in Finder..?
To adjust the column widths in Finder, click on bottom of the divider, hold and drag it out to the desired width.

My work around, is to setup and minimize those Finder windows to the dock for re-use.

Thanks for you reply and support. It works while the folder is open, but once I leave a folder and return to it or go to another folder (of any kind), the problem returns.
Others have sought solutions to this problem over the years, but no solution. Anyway to lobby Apple to fix it??
Thanks.
Wow! That's a work around That'll suite my needs. Preciate you.

You're welcome.
Keep in mind that a shutdown/startup or a restart, will mess with column spacing.
FWIW the last time I restarted was back on 11-3-2025 for the 15.7.2 update.
