Apple does not do international shipping, nor will it deliver to international freight shippers.

I believe Apple will simply cancel your purchase.
Was your consignee possibly a Freight Forwarder?
Apple generally will not ship to freight forwarders.

Don't forget that yesterday was a holiday in the USA. I don't know if that may have affected delivery times.
Yes, I think that’s the case. Also this package was to ultimately be delivered to The Bahamas, there’s is no direct shipping from the US here, at least none that’s worth using. This means 90 percent of items shipped here have to be shipped to some sort of hub, that then ships to The Bahamas.
It certainly appears as if you placed an order with a U.S. Apple Store that is to be sent outside the U.S. You should never do this. An iPhone should be purchased in the country where it will be used.
Why do you think this is so ?
