MacBook Air trackpad clicks repeatedly

Macbook Air trackpad has started clicking repeatedly when I softly glide my fingers over it. I have restarted the laptop and also updated it. I have also tried toggling off Force Click and haptic feedback (still does it) and I have toggled off Tap to click (still does it). It shouldn't have water damage as I have never spilt anything on it.

MacBook Air Trackpad Clicking:

Is there any uplifting below the trackpad or keyboard? If so, there is battery corrosion, and you should get this serviced immediately, as corrosion is a Health Hazard.

Repeated phantom clicking on a MacBook Air trackpad is almost always hardware-related — usually a failing haptic actuator, miscalibrated pressure sensor, or battery pressure under the trackpad. Safe Mode and resets can help diagnose, but if the clicking continues, the trackpad assembly needs inspection or replacement. This is a known hardware failure pattern and is not caused by tapping or settings.
