iPad Pro 9.7inch model A1674 not communicating with Magic Keyboard despite cleaning the contacts, updating the iOS and restarting. The keyboard in the past did communicate, but failed to do so over a year ago. Is there a fix?

Remove the iPad from the Magic Keyboard - and carefully/gently clean the smart connector contacts on both the iPad and keyboard with a soft pencil eraser (a drafting-film eraser is ideal). Ensure that the contacts on both iPad and keyboard are dirt and dust free - and all debris from the eraser have been removed - before reconnecting the two.
It’s probably broken. Buy a new one. There are cheaper ones on Amazon.
