iPad Air M3 battery draining quickly

My iPad Air 11" M3 is heating up and the battery is draining very quickly. When I use the Apple Pencil Pro, the issue becomes even worse. The iPad also locks itself automatically while playing games or performing intensive tasks. Is it hardware issue or this is common with iPad air?
